DEVONthink 2.7.6 and DEVONsphere Express 1.7 enhance the information workflow

Coeur d'Alene (Idaho, USA), May 22, 2014. — DEVONtechnologies, LLC updates all editions of its information and knowledge manager DEVONthink, the notebook app DEVONnote, and the smart desktop assistant DEVONsphere Express. The updates are free and recommended for all users.

Knowledge becomes more useful by sharing. DEVONnote and DEVONthink 2.7.6 make sharing collected wisdom easier. Users can create customized tables of content for exporting documents as a website. Alternatively DEVONthink creates standard “index.html” files duringthe export. Also, sharing documents by email is much easier in version 2.7.6.

Clipping web pages is now possible not only as HTML, webarchive, or PDF but also as Markdown. Users select their file format of choice with a new option in DEVONthink's web browser extension or the bookmarklets. Dragging interesting data from Safari to a database is more reliable in version 2.7.6, too. Finally, archiving email with DEVONthink Pro Office and converting rich text to HTML, formatted notes, or Markdown is faster.

DEVONsphere Express assists users when working with documents by providing related data. Version 1.7 adds support for OS X Mavericks Finder tags and comments, and indexes the Messages archive, too. A new category allows indexing of folders. The new index is faster and smaller, and right-clicking DEVONsphere Express' menu icon gives users access to frequently used commands.

All updates come also with further improvements, are more reliable, and fix some bugs.

“Knowledge unfolds from collecting existing information, processing it, and enriching it with new thoughts. We have designed DEVONthink and DEVONsphere Express to assist their users in all these phases. The Clip to DEVONthink web browser extension saves important data with one click. DEVONsphere Express keeps related information always at hand, and DEVONthink allows to share the results with just one click.”, comments Eric Böhnisch-Volkmann, President of DEVONtechnologies.
