DEVONthink 2.9.2 & DEVONthink To Go 2.0.1: Sync improvements & fixes
Coeur d'Alene (Idaho, USA), August 11th, 2016. — DEVONtechnologies LLC updates all editions of its intelligent information and document manager DEVONthink as well as its iOS counterpart DEVONthink To Go with synchronization improvements and bug fixes. The updates are free and recommended for all users.
DEVONthink 2.9.2 and DEVONthink To Go 2.0.1 bring several enhancements to their fast, flexible, and robust sync engine. Uploads to and downloads from sync stores, e.g. on WebDAV servers or Dropbox, are more reliable now in otherwise unreliable network conditions. Bonjour connections work better in a wider range of network environments and Drobox requests are more gracefully cancelled.
In addition, the releases improve the multi-threading of all sync store operations and the reliability of synchronizations in general. Besides fixing a number of minor bugs the update remedies issues related to invalid or self-signed HTTPS certificates as well as to pending records moved from one database to another.
All editions of DEVONthink 2.9.2 allow the user now to quickly find pending items using smart groups or the advanced search. A new toolbar button synchronizes all open databases with all their sync locations with a single click. After adding tags on iOS, DEVONthink 2.9.2 now immediately updates the Finder tags of the content files, too, and is more compatible to HTTP proxies.
DEVONthink To Go 2.0.1 shows the number of unread items in its app badge and adds new smart groups listing audio and video files. The new version improves its soft-keyboard handling as well as the detail info for groups. Navigating a database is twice as fast as before and the app uses significantly less memory during synchronizations. Finally, the update fixes the truncated app name in the Springboard, issues related to searching, and minor user interface glitches.
"Our sync technology is synchronization for power users. It offers unmatched flexibility, robustness, and speed. We are using the very same code for both platforms which makes it much easier than before for us to enhance DEVONthink and DEVONthink To Go simultanously", comments Eric Böhnisch-Volkmann, President of DEVONtechnologies LLC
