DEVONsphere Express 1.6 indexes network servers, other improvements
Coeur d'Alene (Idaho, USA), Oct 2, 2012 — DEVONtechnologies, LLC releases version 1.6 of DEVONsphere Express, the app that makes the Mac smarter by bringing artificial intelligence to the Finder. The update makes it possible to index networks servers, adds other improvements, and fixes a few bugs.
Where previous versions only worked their magic on local files, version 1.6 extends its reach also to mountable servers. Add volumes that are not always available, e.g. network servers, to the index and find even more related documents. And if you don't want to index a folder with irrelevant stuff, add it to the exclude list in the preferences.
In addition DEVONsphere Express 1.6 passes OS X 10.8's Gatekeeper, adds a beautiful Retina icon, lets you close the panel with the Escape key, and makes it possible to copy text from Quick Look panels as well as to navigate inside them without having you to activate it with the mouse first. The update improves the results retrieved from web sites and the compatibility to some HTML and XML encodings. And, as always, we've fixed a number of harmless bugs and glitches, too.
"DEVONsphere Express brings DEVONtechnologies' unique artificial intelligence to Mail, Safari, the Finder. It gives you related data to whatever you're currently working on. And it's better and more accurate than Spotlight. Now search data from servers, too", says Eric Böhnisch-Volkmann, DEVONtechnologies' President.
