DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.2 are not afraid of the Lion
Coeur d'Alene (Idaho, USA), Jul 14, 2011 — DEVONtechnologies, LLC updates all editions of DEVONthink, the #1 information and document manager for the Mac, and its little brother DEVONnote for full compatibility to OS X 10.7 "Lion".
Version 2.2 of all editions of DEVONthink as well as of DEVONnote have been tested and found working well on Apple's upcoming operating system release, OS X 10.7 "Lion".
"DEVONthink and DEVONnote needed only very few changes to make them run smoothly on Apple's new, exciting OS. Version 2.2 has all the necessary fixes so that our users can fearlessly upgrade to 'Lion' as soon as it becomes available," says Eric Böhnisch-Volkmann, DEVONtechnologies' president.
In addition DEVONthink Pro Office brings a new version of the embedded TWAIN scan module ExactScan Capture, DEVONthink Pro and up come with scripts for Google Chrome and an updated extension for Mozilla Firefox 5. Version 2.2 is compatible to the upcoming DEVONagent Pro 3.0, all editions send documents by email through the new popular email application Sparrow, and improve the handling of savable workspaces.
Further improvements include user interface improvements, better AppleScript and Automator support in DEVONthink Pro and up, better full-screen app handling, as well as smart groups with user-defined dates. The dock icon now shows a progress indicator, services include the app name, and website export as well as the build-in web server (Pro Office only) retains line spacing.
Finally the DEVONtechnologies developers have fixed a number of minor bugs and user interface glitches and improved the overall performance and reliability.
"With 'Lion' compatibility, Google Chrome and Firefox 5 support, better TWAIN scanning, and support for the great email app Sparrow version 2.2 is the best release of DEVONthink and DEVONnote so far. All our users should install this update," recommends Eric Böhnisch-Volkmann, DEVONtechnologies' president.
