Our privacy policy

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

Our software and processes comply to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The information we collect

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the DEVONtechnologies web site or in the online shop run by our partner 2Checkout. On some pages, you can order products, make requests, and register to receive materials. The types of personal information collected on these pages are:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Payment information such as credit card details
  • License code information
  • Maybe other personal details necessary to fulfill your request

How we use your data

We use the information you provide about yourself when placing an order only to complete that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order. Order information is collected by 2Checkout, our third-party partner that runs the shop. 2Checkout forwards only your name, address, email address, phone number as well as the list of purchased products to us but never your payment details.

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

You can register with our web site if you would like to receive welcome tips or our newsletter with updates on our products and services. Information you submit on our web site will not be used for this purpose unless you fill out the registration form. You can opt-out at any time from our newsletter using the newsletter form.

We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our web site but do not share this information. If we share some details with third-party companies helping us improve our web site we do not disclose any information that could be used to identify those individuals.

Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.

How our software uses your data

Our software never shares your actual data with us. The data you add to and keep in our applications is stored locally on your devices and at no point in time uploaded to servers run by DEVONtechnologies.

The technology used by our software to synchronize data between devices either transfers data directly between two devices or uses file servers or cloud services provided by the end user. All data transferred during a synchronization or stored on file servers or cloud services is encrypted if an encryption password was entered by the user. The privacy policies of the entities running the file servers or cloud services apply for all data stored on an external server or service.

For providing synchronization push notifications we maintain a list of records consisting of an anonymized device identifier (UID), the unique identifier (UUID) of a sync store, the UUID of a database in that sync store, information about the app edition and beta status, as well as a timestamp. Neither the UID nor the sync store and database UUIDs can be backtraced by DEVONtechnologies to a named user. We're collecting the app edition and beta status to send the data to the correct server at Apple and the timestamp to delete records that haven't been used in a while. The actual push notification is sent via the Apple Push Notification service.

If you purchased our software in the App Store and agreed to sharing data with developers we receive anonymized usage statistics and crash logs from Apple.

Our commitment to data security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Our customer database server uses a secure connection to communicate with the shop system and takes extensive measures to prevent access to customer-related information without physical access.

Our commitment to children's privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our web site from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our web site is structured to attract anyone under 13.

How you can access or correct your data

You can access all your personally identifiable information that we collect online and maintain by contacting us and providing proper means of identification. This is a manual process to better safeguard your information. You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error.

To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
