Stop Your Devices Phoning Home

The Pi-Hole administration console shows which and how many requests it has blocked.

No matter what we do online there are companies trying to follow us, learn more about what we do, and build profiles. Some web sites contain more tracking code than actual content. On the web you can use ad blockers and search engines like DuckDuckGo or Startpage but there's little you can do about apps on your iPhone or your Amazon Echo calling someone you don't what them to talk to. How to Enter Emojis Quicker

Emoji. They're the digital equivalent of the little doodles we'd draw when passing notes to each other. Built into macOS, you can call up the Emoji & Symbols palette while you're typing. In recent weeks we have written a few times about macOS 10.15 Catalina, Apple's latest version of the Mac operating system. Even though Apple officially released the upgrade last week, it has numerous very rough edges that can even stop you from getting any actual work done on your Mac. (more)

Airdrop to Mobile

Suppose you’re working with a friend or colleague who isn’t running DEVONthink on her Mac (heaven forbid!). But they have a file you need and you have your iOS mobile device running DEVONthink To Go. Is there any way to get it transferred quickly and easily? (more)
