The new version fixes e.g. crashes connected to broken databases on the Mac or to exporting data to the iTunes document folders (emergency export). A few days ago a critical bug named Heartbleed was discovered in OpenSSL, the software that makes connections to websites secure. The bug affects more than half a million websites including companies such as Yahoo or Flickr. We have checked our own online shop and it is NOT affected by Heartbleed; Avangate, the company that runs our shop, confirmed this. (mehr)
As you might know our company name comes from the Devonian Period. And so calling our blog Devonian Times was obvious. Just recently a reader pointed us to just another Devonian Times. It collects all kind of information about the Devonian Period. Today Apple finally released DEVONthink To Go 1.5.4 to the App Store. The maintenance update fixes a few nasty crashes related to the action extension as well as crashes on iOS 5.1.1. We have also corrected a 64-bit-related issue that led to garbled text in rich text documents with accented characters. (mehr)
