DEVONthink 3.0 Public Beta

Nach der kompletten Überarbeitung unserer Benutzer-Community und unserer Website haben einige Leute den Verdacht geäußert, dass es — ganz nach Apple-Tradition — eine weitere Neuigkeit gibt. Und das stimmte natürlich. Heute haben wir DEVONthink 3.0 Public Beta mit, buchstäblich, hunderten neuen Funktionen und Verbesserungen veröffentlicht. (mehr)

DEVONthink 2.11.3

Während wir hinter verschlossener Tür fleissig arbeiten, haben wir heute ein Wartungsupdate für DEVONthink veröffentlicht. In der Version 2.11.3 haben wir die Markdown- und MultiMarkdown-Unterstützung verbessert, einschließlich CriticMarkup. Wir haben automatische Rechtschreibkorrekturen für HTML-basierte Dokumente hinzugefügt und die Erkennung von WikiLinks um das bis zu 70fache beschleunigt. (mehr)

Today’s update for DEVONthink and DEVONnote is all about improving the overall reliability. It fixes a sporadic crash when accessing the Preferences pane on macOS Mojave, issues with Brother and Epson scanners, and a problem with DEVONnote reporting RTFD documents as missing. (mehr)

Organize Your Apps

One great feature of macOS is virtual desktops that Apple refers to as Spaces. Especially useful on laptops with their limited screen space, these allow you to have multiple screens to organize your applications. Check out System Preferences > Mission Control for options. (mehr)

Add with the Proxy Icon

Say you are working on a saved document in an application on your Mac and suddenly feel the need to add it to your DEVONthink database. You can close the document, locate the file, and drag it into the database. Or you can drag the proxy icon. But what’s the proxy icon? It’s the icon next to the title at the top of the window in many macOS applications. Just click-and-hold it (it will turn grey to show it’s selected), then drag away. (mehr)

Push Notifications for Sync and More

DEVONthink 2.11 and DEVONthink To Go 2.7, released today, add push notifications to the synchronization. Whenever you now make changes to your databases our app sends notifications to all your other devices telling them that something new is waiting for them. That means that it takes much less time before changes are available on all your devices. And as a bonus, it lets us wake up DEVONthink To Go, even when your iPhone or iPad is still in your pocket or bag, and pull the new data in the background. (mehr)

DEVONthink and Spotlight

There are times people want to use Apple’s Spotlight to search for a file in a DEVONthink database. Without going too deeply in technical matters, Spotlight doesn’t index inside the type of file a DEVONthink database is. Due to this, we use a technique to write out some of the metadata for Spotlight to index. (mehr)

Travel With Your Data… Securely

When syncing DEVONthink on macOS, you have the option of using a local sync location, called a local sync store. Technically it’s a folder on a volume that keeps databases in syncable form. Since it’s writing directly to a local disk, it’s by far the fastest and most transparent sync option. (mehr)
