In the last few weeks our software was mentioned in blogs and podcasts a few times. Whether you’re reading German, are a lawyer, or you’re just interested in all things iOS you might find these interesting: … (mehr)
Our friends at MacObserver mentioned DEVONthink, EasyFind, and more again in their excellent Mac Geek Gab podcast, episode 679:
Quick Tips, Cool Stuff Found, High Sierra, and KRACK are the topics today, but that means you’re in for a real treat. The goal is for everyone to learn at least four (4!) new things, but today you’re guaranteed to learn a whole lot more. (mehr)
iCloud Drive is Apple’s reincarnation of the iDisk. Install the Index iCloud Drive script to add all user-created folders in iCloud Drive to your inbox. User-created means all folders that are not application-specific such as the Numbers of Pages folders. (mehr)
With our maintenance update 2.9.16 for DEVONthink we focused on enhancing the built-in synchronization. We now let you import multiple databases at the same time from a sync location and pending items are automatically downloaded from the next available location. (mehr)
Information worker Yann Rousse switched from Evernote to DEVONthink. He described how he managed the transition in detail in an excellent blog post on Medium:
Moving to DEVONthink from Evernote is not a trivial change. The new tools available to handle my Information and Knowledge activities are quite different and in many ways, far more powerful. The learning curve has started for me but I feel DEVONthink is not only excellent but most importantly the proper fit for me. I’m just beginning to perceive how I can now extend my use of such tool as most barriers I had with Evernote have been lifted now. (mehr)
macOS Sierra 10.12.2 will soon be knocking at the door. DEVONthink 2.9.7, which we have released today, addresses further PDF issues related to Sierra (but does not fix them all; they’re just too many). (mehr)
“Alles neu macht der Mai,” Germans are saying. We do it already in April! We have just released maintenance updates for all three editions of DEVONthink as well as for DEVONnote. The update improves the reliability of synchronization, clipping with the Clip To DEVONthink browser extension as well as the bookmarklets, and many other parts of the apps. If you’re using the new web interface of DEVONthink Pro Office you’ll like that we have made it a lot faster. (mehr)

We’ve finally decided to replace the system PDF sidebar with our own code to fix some long-standing issues with macOS El Capitan and later. DEVONthink 2.9.15 brings a completely rewritten PDF sidebar that is not only more reliable than its macOS counterpart but also offers better clipboard, drag-and-drop, and keyboard navigation support. As my professional role has developed I have become more involved in authoring, reviewing, and submitting academic papers, amongst other activities such as grant and report writing. Prior to DEVONthink Pro Office (DTPO), there was a lot of flicking through numerous PDFs and web pages, whilst trying to keep track of different sections of writing, of which there are always several on the go at once. The main apps in use here are DTPO, Bookends, OmniFocus. (mehr)
