DEVONagent Express updated and PhotoStickies in the App Store
Coeur d'Alene (Idaho, USA), Jul 27, 2011 – DEVONtechnologies, LLC today released a maintenance update for DEVONagent Express to version 3.0.3 and brings its freeware image viewer and web cam utility PhotoStickies to the Mac App Store.
The new version uses a more compact layout when no preview icons are shown, increases the maximum download to eight megabytes, and fully supports 64 bit which speeds up processing search results on 64-bit-capable Macs. Some internal plugins have been improved, too, and so has the encoding and date handling.
"64 bit is the future. And so is DEVONagent Express. The new version makes the best web search experience on the Mac even better. Web search using the browser is the past; searching directly from your Mac’s great user interface is the future,” comments Eric Böhnisch-Volkmann, DEVONtechnologies’ President.
PhotoStickies celebrates its 10th anniversary and is now also available in the Mac App Store. In addition to the necessary changes for compliance to the store the freeware image, slideshow, and web cam viewer is now fully 64 bit compliant, faster, and more robust.
"PhotoStickies was one the first apps we have ever released and it’s still the way for viewing web cams and images directly on the desktop. Watch people on Times Square, New York City, or puffins breeding on the Shetland Islands. Or take pictures of your kids and significant other with you regardless whether you work at your office or at Starbucks. It’s free, you have no excuse for not trying it” say Eric Böhnisch-Volkmann, DEVONtechnologies’ President.
PhotoStickies shows images frameless like “sticky notes”, makes simple slideshows from folders of pictures, and displays web cams directly on the desktop. All pictures can be loaded directly from the web, filtered, and refreshed regularly. Favorites and savable states make organizing larger collections and switching between them easy. Images can also be placed as dynamic desktop wallpapers.
