Now in full HD: DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.3
Coeur d'Alene (Idaho, USA), Sep 15, 2011 – DEVONtechnologies, LLC updates all editions of its document and information manager DEVONthink and the smart note pad DEVONnote to use more of the new services offered by OS X 10.7 Lion.
Starting with version 2.3 all editions of DEVONthink as well as DEVONnote fully support OS X 10.7 Lion's full screen mode for main windows. But, of course, the user still has the choice: the old full screen mode optimized for reading documents and websites, using tabs, and writing focused stays available, too.
"To stay focused is a key qualification in today’s world where we are literally flooded with information and constantly interrupted. The Mac’s new full screen mode is a really great way to stay focused on the task at hand and so we are supporting it in DEVONthink as an alternative to the document-oriented full screen mode that we have had for many years already,” says Eric Böhnisch-Volkmann, President of DEVONtechnologies.
On OS X 10.7 Lion it is now possible to show Quick Look previews of attachments, links, and cross-links in rich text documents as well as edit attachments externally. Address Book cards can be added to DEVONthink Pro databases and rich text files in all editions as bookmarks linking to the original card. DEVONthink displays addresses added as bookmarks using Quick Look, DEVONthink Pro and Pro Office also have an option to import the whole address book as bookmarks. Updates to the card in Address Book are so automatically also shown in your database.
The number next to groups now only counts documents and no longer also sub-groups, documents can be exported as text files in any available encoding, the File menu has been rearranged for clarity, and a new menu command including keyboard shortcut allows you to directly jump to a page in a PDF document by its page number. The Firefox extension is now compatible to the current and the forthcoming releases of the browser.
Of course also a number of bugs and glitches concerning OS X 10.7 Lion, the underlying support for DEVONthink To Go, and the Sorter have been fixed. Finally, the app has been (again) made slightly faster, too.
