We’ve just released an update for DEVONthink To Go to version 2.4.3. This time it’s all about synchronization. So we added the ability to synchronize when you switch to another app. This makes sure that the changes you’ve made are uploaded to your sync store. If you lock the device, iOS immediately removes access to all encrypted data on disk to protect it. In this case DEVONthink To Go stops the synchronization quietly and retries when you come back to it later. (mehr)

The following are some thoughts on what I think could be added to or improved in DEVONthink Pro Office (DTPO) or DEVONthink To Go (DTTG2). From this series of blog posts you will have guessed that I am a big fan of this software. It has genuinely made life so much easier for me (especially academically) and even after a good few months of daily use, some of the features I come across still surprise and delight with their simplicity and logical manner! Still, anyone using a piece of software to this extent will occasionally think ‘I wish it did this’ or ‘wouldn’t it be good if’, so here is my collection of those moments. (mehr)

DEVONthink To Go 1.4.3, which passed Apple’s review a couple of weeks ago, was the first shot at fixing issues with rendering rich text documents on iOS 8. Unfortunately it didn’t fix all these issues. Today Apple released our update to version 1.5.3 which now again shows also RTFD documents and fixes a number of issues introduced in versions 1.5 through 1.5.2. (mehr)

On a side note, DEVONthink To Go 2.6.5 has become available too. The maintenance release indexes items without searchable text locally, e.g. email synchronized from DEVONthink Pro, and enhances the way it handles the keyboard when searching. It also improves the reliability of retrieving web page thumbnails, the progress indication when verifying and cleaning sync stores, and the overall reliability and performance of the synchronization. DEVONthink To Go 2.4.2 is available on the App Store. The maintenance release updates the PDF library with bug fixes and improves the way informative notifications are presented.
