Two weeks ago we have updated DEVONthink for macOS Sierra and DEVONthink To Go for iOS 10; this week it’s DEVONagent’s turn with a maintenance update.
Version 3.9.5 of all editions of DEVONagent received fixes for minor issues with Apple’s latest desktop operating system. In addition they now support the privacy-minded search engine Qwant and search Google Scholar better. As always we’re thrown a lot more into the basket, from more accurate ad filtering to updated scanner plugins and better interoperability with other applications. (mehr)
DEVONthink To Go 2.1.3, which passed Apple’s review today and became available on the App Store, follows its Mac counterpart, and now also uses our own decluttering service when clipping web pages and articles. This way we’ve made it independent of third-party services and ready for future improvements. (mehr)
Last week we released DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.5 introducing our new technology that lets you keep the same database on all your Macs and always up to date. Today we have published the first minor update to version 2.5.1 with some important bug fixes for all four editions. Update your copy using the menu command Check for Updates in the app’s main menu or download a fresh one from our Download page.
Two weeks ago Instapaper silently made their public API available only to logged-in users. If you are one of the DEVONthink users whose workflow relied on Instapaper here’s the fix release for you. DEVONthink 2.9.11 now uses our own Markdownifier web service for decluttering clipped web pages and articles and so removes the dependency on a third-party service. (mehr)
As with most major operating system releases, macOS Sierra and iOS 10 bring not only new features but also many under-the-hood changes. We have just released updates for all editions of DEVONthink as well as for DEVONnote and DEVONthink To Go. (mehr)
DEVONthink is all about document management and workflow. Version 2.1 brought the document provider extension, now DEVONthink To Go 2.1.2 lets you share multiple documents in one go with other apps, e.g., for sending them by email. Markdown and HTML documents can now link to images and other items simply by local paths as an alternative to using item links. Markdown is becoming increasingly popular as an easy-to-learn file format for text requiring only simple formatting. (mehr)
Using multiple computers, working from different places, sharing data with coworkers: In today’s highly connected world it’s essential to always have access to the latest data. And because we know that, of course, we worked hard on creating the most versatile yet robust synchronization technology and rewriting the build-in web server of DEVONthink Pro Office. (mehr)
DEVONthink To Go 2.1.1 just passed Apple’s review with important bug fixes. — For the new document provider extension feature to work, DEVONthink To Go 2.1 had to move the the database files to a new location shared between application and its extensions. On some devices this failed and resulted in an error message and an apparently empty database. Version 2.1.1 fixes this issue and makes the database accessible again. We apologize for the inconveniences. (mehr)
If you’re serious about document management on iOS then you’ll not want to miss today’s release of DEVONthink To Go 2.1. It lets you open, edit, and save documents stored in your databases from other apps. Apple Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, and many more support the document provider mechanism right away. Others do, too, through the iCloud Drive picker. Bye-bye, ”Open In…” roundtrip*. (mehr)
If you’re an Apple Notes user but would like to move completely to DEVONthink and DEVONthink To Go now, this update is for you. DEVONthink 2.9.9 adds an option for importing notes and attachments from Apple Notes. It honors the folder structure in Apple Notes and uses formatted notes to preserve formatting in a future-proof format. (mehr)
