OS X El Capitan adds some technologies for enhanced security and DEVONagent 3.9.3 adds the necessary support for it. We’ve fixed a few bugs related to El Capitan, too. That being not enough we’ve added three scripts to DEVONagent Pro that integrate it better with Safari. It also plays videos fullscreen now. (mehr)

Christmas is near but we have worked up to the last minute to provide you with the latest builds before we switch off our Macs and spend some relaxing days with our families. Public beta 3 of our sync technology fixes a few minor but annoying bugs and public beta 4 of the web sharing plugin improves the whole user experience.

OS X El Capitan is out and DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.8.7 add some necessary changes for it. In addition to this we’ve overhauled the built-in synchronization both between Macs and from Mac to iOS. Importing or indexing files is up to twice as fast as in previous versions and DEVONthink 2.8.7 groups attachments and cross-links them when taking over notes from Evernote. (mehr)

DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.8.4 are available. They let you move new documents into your databases more quickly. Save yourself a lot of now superfluous clicks by dragging files or folders to the application with the ⌘ Command modifier key pressed. It imports them and trashes their originals in one go. (mehr)

We have just updated all editions of DEVONagent. With version 3.9 we introduce a new Inspectors pane unifying several other panes. It gives you access to page properties, objects retrieved by scanners, and related pages. Properties include the author’s name, the page description, keywords, and more. (mehr)

Just in case you didn’t know: DEVONagent Pro searches the Internet with full control and powerful options. Version 3.4 brings new options for following promising links and an exciting new way to create your own site-specific searches without writing XML plugins. And, of course, the release updates a number of pre-fab search sets, plugins, and scanners, improves the performance and fixes bugs.

Today our update to DEVONthink To Go 1.5.5 became available in the App Store. The new version fixes e.g. crashes connected to broken databases on the Mac or to exporting data to the iTunes document folders (emergency export). For example databases without a valid UUID (universally unique identifier) could crash DEVONthink To Go. Update your copy from within the App Store app on your device or through iTunes. (mehr)

Today we have posted DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.8.3 to our website and to the App Store. The improved classification algorithm in version 2.8.3 improves the accuracy of all AI-based functionality: See also, classify, concordance, automatic grouping, and summarizing. Working with documents can hardly be easier. Today Apple finally released DEVONthink To Go 1.5.4 to the App Store. The maintenance update fixes a few nasty crashes related to the action extension as well as crashes on iOS 5.1.1. We have also corrected a 64-bit-related issue that led to garbled text in rich text documents with accented characters. (mehr)

DEVONthink is a long-time supporter of the OpenMeta standard for exchanging tagged files. With version 2.4.3, that we have released today, we have further improved the OpenMeta support with better handling of file system events and, in DEVONthink Pro and up, AppleScript commands for synchronizing tags between the database and files in the filesystem. If you are building your own automated workflows you can so make sure that tags are not lost when transferring data between DEVONthink and other apps. (mehr)
