Last week we released DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.5 introducing our new technology that lets you keep the same database on all your Macs and always up to date. Today we have published the first minor update to version 2.5.1 with some important bug fixes for all four editions. Update your copy using the menu command Check for Updates in the app’s main menu or download a fresh one from our Download page.

Two weeks ago Instapaper silently made their public API available only to logged-in users. If you are one of the DEVONthink users whose workflow relied on Instapaper here’s the fix release for you. DEVONthink 2.9.11 now uses our own Markdownifier web service for decluttering clipped web pages and articles and so removes the dependency on a third-party service. (mehr)

As with most major operating system releases, macOS Sierra and iOS 10 bring not only new features but also many under-the-hood changes. We have just released updates for all editions of DEVONthink as well as for DEVONnote and DEVONthink To Go. (mehr)

If you’re an Apple Notes user but would like to move completely to DEVONthink and DEVONthink To Go now, this update is for you. DEVONthink 2.9.9 adds an option for importing notes and attachments from Apple Notes. It honors the folder structure in Apple Notes and uses formatted notes to preserve formatting in a future-proof format. (mehr)

DEVONthink is the document and information manager for the Mac. Version 2.7.7 recognizes Apple’s new and shiny Swift source code files, retains more metadata than before when you export documents, and prefills the Save panel with tags for you. Many more small interface improvements make using the app easier. We know how important a robust sync is. And so here’s another maintenance release for both DEVONthink for Mac as well as DEVONthink To Go. We’ve made synchronizing to e.g. WebDAV or Dropbox up to 3.7 times faster. Direct connections via the local network are more reliable now too and during a sync you can see which database is being synchronized. OS X El Capitan became just available as public beta. Right in time, DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.8.6 bring important compatibility changes for it. In addition, DEVONthink 2.8.6 supports images referenced in Markdown documents. When importing Bookends references, DEVONthink imports their keywords too. PDF text annotations created by other applications keep their appearance. They are only restyled as soon as you edit them with DEVONthink. (mehr)

Just a quick note that we have just released DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.8.11. The update brings, among many more detail enhancements, a revised view/edit pane and better compatibility to RSS 1.0 feeds. Automatically opened panels such as the Activity or Log panels are no longer activated by default. This way they don’t unnecessarily interrupt your workflow. (mehr)

E-Books, either as PDFs or ePub, establish themselves more and more for technical literature. Starting with version 2.8.5 DEVONthink indexes ePub and iBooks books natively and lets you convert them if you need to. Better annotations make working with PDFs more comfortable. And the faster and more secure web server lets you work better together with your coworkers stuck on Windows. (mehr)
