Like the software market the market for books is currently undergoing extreme changes. Many authors are trying to catch the attention of readers and customers, and ebooks, app stores, and flatrates are fueling the “price race to the bottom”. Therefore today I’d personally like to point those of you reading German to three extraordinary authors who happen to be also my personal friends. Print to PDF on iOS

iOS 10 comes with a great but somewhat hidden feature: Print to PDF. It allows you to save any document that you can print as a PDF and send it by email or clip it to DEVONthink To Go.

In the Share sheet from any app choose Print. The print preview dialog appears. Now instead of printing “pinch” on the print preview like just as if you’d want to enlarge it. It opens — now as a PDF — in a separate dialog. Choose Share again and send it anywhere you like. (mehr)

Save Tabs to DEVONthink with these Scripts

DEVONthink power user Veritrope has created two new scripts that creates a list of all the pages currently open in tabs in Safari or Chrome. So with a single click you have saved all your tabs in a single HTML document in DEVONthink Pro (Office) and you can re-visit the pages later at any time. Download the Safari script and the Chrome script from his homepage. Veritrope has many more scripts and tips for dealing with browser tabs.

Need to Move a File? Yoink It!

There are many times we need to move a file from one place to another. On Macs with larger screens, you can easily open and arrange windows to drag and drop between them. However, if you’re on a laptop or don’t have the luxury of using a second monitor, this is often not an easy task. Often we resort to using Spaces in Mission Control to give ourselves as much space per application as we can. This can make file moving even trickier. (mehr)
