Perhaps you have a selection of images that you would like to convert into a single PDF. In DEVONthink, there is a simple tool that does just that. Here is, how it works.
- Get images into your database.
- Select the images.
- Choose Tools > Merge Images.
That’s it, you now have a newly created PDF in your database. Simple!
However, there are a few things to consider…
- The sort order of the images matters. They will be merged top to bottom. If you need a specific order, use View > Sort > Unsorted, then drag the documents into their positions before the merge.
- In Tools > Inspectors > Thumbnails, you can drag the thumbnails of the merged PDF into any order.
- Merging retains the originals. If you don’t want to keep them, hold the Option key when opening the Tools menu, and you’ll see the command is Merge & Delete Images.
As a bonus tip, if you need a searchable PDF and you’re running the Pro or Server edition of DEVONthink, run Data > OCR on the resulting PDF document.
