As you might know our company name comes from the Devonian Period. And so calling our blog Devonian Times was obvious. Just recently a reader pointed us to just another Devonian Times. It collects all kind of information about the Devonian Period. While unfortunately it wasn’t updated since 2006 but you might still find it an interesting read far away from all the technology we’re usually writing about here.
Google has dramatically lowered the price for their web storage and so has Amazon. However, cheap is not free. And free trumps, doesn’t it? Today we’re happy to announce our own cloud service: DEVONglass. Synchronize all your databases transparently between your Macs (and eventually also your iOS devices) completely free-of-cost, no matter how much data you have. After having released quite a number of video tutorials for DEVONthink we have finally also re-imagined the introduction video for DEVONthink.
Meet Jim, a university student graduating in modern literature about The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. He collects articles, clippings, links, even paper documents, organizes them, and writes his thesis — all with DEVONthink. The built-in artificial intelligence assists him and finds connections between items that Jim even hasn’t thought of himself. (more)
In summer 2013 we supported Fred Sarran’s great fundraising initiative Cycling for ALD (Adults with a Learning Disability). Fred cycled 450 miles in eleven days all around Scotland in support of the donations for Balnagask Court Arts, Crafts and Activities. (more)

Quite a few people have asked whether our apps are compatible with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion or not. As we are always updating our apps quickly for any new OS X release if there are issues we didn’t find it worth mentioning. But, just in case: There are some smaller issues of especially DEVONthink Pro Office with Mountain Lion, e.g. the not functioning Mail plugin (see below). But all in all all of our are working also on OS X 10.8. We will publish maintenance updates for all our apps, which will, of course, be also properly signed and so produce no Gatekeeper warnings.
