Just a quick note that we have today released version 2.0.6 of all editions of DEVONthink and of DEVONnote. The update fixes bugs, e.g. the ‘Sync group missing’ bug that affected only some Macs but not all of them. It also brings better integration with Spotlight and improves the overall performance. Use your applications’ built-in update function or download the new versions on our Download page. (more)
We have just submitted the first update of DEVONthink To Go to version 1.0.1 to Apple for App Store review. The updated fixes a number of crashes and glitches including the crashes when navigating back from the Search screen as well as the non-functioning Cancel button on the Sync screen. The update will show up automatically on your device as soon as it has been approved by Apple. (more)
As promised two days ago: We have more news this week. Today is the end of the DEVONacademy as we knew it. We have updated all tutorials, collected new scripts, templates, and plugins, moved all tips from my blog to a database, and integrated everything into an easy-to-use assistant that is now part of DEVONthink and DEVONnote, and soon also of DEVONagent. Apple is always good for a surprise. Last night Apple has finally approved and releasedDEVONthink To Go to the App Store. Our app for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch is available now for US $14.99 worldwide. Champagne!!!
In the recent one and a half months Jon, our new iOS developer, has worked himself through the code of DEVONthink To Go and fixed a number of nasty bugs making both the application and the sync more robust. In the coming months he will also replace the current sync code with a totally rewritten library (that e.g. will support MobileMe and Dropbox) as well as introduce new features such as file renaming, deleting, and moving on the device, better PDF support, and more. Over the weekend we have fixed the … problem of the two popovers appearing simultaneously on screen and also made the info screen appear inside the document list popover in portrait mode on the iPad. We hope that this satisfies Apple’s concerns with the user interface and that they do not find other problems that they have not informed us of in the first round. We have just submitted the updated binary and will keep you updated on any change.
I promised to keep you updated on any change in the review status of DEVONthink To Go. Yesterday our submission was rejected by Apple because in a very rare case two pop-up windows could appear at the same time. Nobody would ever step into this except for by accident but seems to be against the interface guidelines. We are preparing a general fix for this issue and will resubmit as quickly as possible. More soon on this channel.
Just a quick note that we have today released version 2.0.5 of all editions of DEVONthink and of DEVONnote. The update adds, e.g., drag-and-drop support for images to the Take Note window, and if you have a trackpad that supports multi-finger gestures you can now also zoom in and out of images and PDFs with your fingers. We have fixed a few bugs, too. Use your applications’ built-in update function or download the new versions on our download page. (more)
Two weeks ago we have sent beta 10 to our beta tester community. Today we have officially released the DEVONthink To Go product page with a feature list, screen shots, and a short Getting Started guide. The product page also reflects the most current development status (now: in quality assurance testing) and App Store review status as soon as we have submitted the app to Apple.
Updates! We cannot get enough of them. And so we created a whole bunch of updates for you: DEVONthink, DEVONnote, DEVONthink To Go, EasyFind, and XMenu — with cool new features and tons of bug fixes. Especially when you’re using DEVONthink To Go you will like what we have submitted to Apple today. It’s not only much more robust, it also comes with voice and video notes now.
