Our power user Luc Beaulieu, professor for Physics at the Université Laval and researcher at the Quebec City University hospital,  has turned his office completely paperless and shares on his blog how he achieved this, from the hardware and the software (unsurprisingly, DEVONthink Pro Office plays a key role) he uses to his workflow. If you are using the Pinboard script available through the Support Assistant for DEVONthink Pro (Office): We have fixed a bug and and updated script is now ready for downloading. To get the new version please simply open the Support Assistant, remove the old script, and re-install it.

With DEVONthink 2.4 we have introduced our new scanner/camera import window, and just yesterday we have released an update that makes scanning with Image Capture compliant flatbed scanners or all-in-one devices a lot more comfortable. Today we have published two new tutorials that guide you through the new scanner/camera import window (all editions of DEVONthink) and through setting up a Fujitsu ScanSnap document scanner for use with DEVONthink Pro Office. Check them both out directly in DEVONthink (Help > Tutorials).

DEVONthink’s new scanning function unified the various scanning options of previous versions and made paper capture available also for users of the Personal and Pro editions. But users are still missing some of the more advanced options, for example convenient capturing of documents with multiple pages. DEVONthink 2.4.2, which we have released today, supports the option Combine Into Single Document whenever you scan as PDF or TIFF. Just name the document and start scanning; DEVONthink creates a new document for you that you just have to send to your database when you’re done with all pages. (more)

Today we’ve released a maintenance update for all editions of DEVONthink and DEVONnote. The new versions bring, depending on their edition, importing items from BareBones Yojimbo, faster and more reliable email archiving, performance enhancements, and bug fixes. (more)

In summer 2013 we supported Fred Sarran’s great fundraising initiative Cycling for ALD (Adults with a Learning Disability). Fred cycled 450 miles in eleven days all around Scotland in support of the donations for Balnagask Court Arts, Crafts and Activities. (more)

We have just released maintenance updates for all editions of DEVONthink and for DEVONnote fixing a few minor issues introduced with last week’s updates. The updates to DEVONthink resp. DEVONnote 2.4.1 are recommended for all users using an Intel-based Mac running OS X 10.6.8 or later. (more)

In the recent months we have sponsored the great Mac website macdrifter.com which has in return published a number of very helpful articles on DEVONthink and DEVONagent. Gabe Weatherhead covered everyday tasks with our apps including e.g. using DEVONthink as an RSS reader, archiving with DEVONthink, synchronizing databases, or searching the web with DEVONagent. Last week we have tamed the Mountain Lion with DEVONthink and DEVONnote 2.4, this week it’s the turn of DEVONagent to pass the Gatekeeper. That being not enough, version 3.3 of DEVONagent Pro carries support for Notification Center and the new Sharing Services in its bag. Share found results with one click via iMessage, Mail, Twitter, Facebook, or Airdrop or add them to Safari’s Reading List. Notifications let you know when a lengthy search run is done. (more)
