Search to Organize

December 20, 2016 — Jim Neumann

When you organize your databases and often find yourself navigating through deep group hierarchies to file a new document, this tip from our forum power user korm is for you:

Consider using the search to locate the destination across all databases where you want to move documents to (or from). Arrange your database and the search window side by side. In the search window, search for anything. If the search result is a group, then you can drag any item from the database window into that group in the search window to move it there. Or Option-drag it and the document is copied.

And, of course, the method works also in reverse: Drag or Option-drag something from the search window into a destination in your database and it is moved or copied.

Thank you, korm, for this tip!
