Just a quick note that we have today released version 2.0.6 of all editions of DEVONthink and of DEVONnote. The update fixes bugs, e.g. the ‘Sync group missing’ bug that affected only some Macs but not all of them. It also brings better integration with Spotlight and improves the overall performance. Use your applications’ built-in update function or download the new versions on our Download page. (more)
If you are using the MacUpdate Desktop app to update the software on your computer please be careful: DEVONthink Pro and Pro Office are using the same “Bundle ID” to make both of them compatible to e.g. the same scripts and Automator actions. Unfortunately MacUpdate Desktop is using the Bundle ID for identifying updates. So it can happen that it, out of confusion, updates a DEVONthink Pro to a Pro Office or vice versa which then of course, asks for a proper license code. (more)
While working concentrated for a last release (no, not just another 1.0.x update for DEVONthink To Go) before Christmas, we here in Europe also take some time off to enjoy the great advent weeks where the streets are beautifully illuminated and most towns and cities open their Christmas markets. Like ours here in Ludwigsburg, Germany: … (more)
Today we have released the last public beta of DEVONagent 3.0 to the wild. We have added our new support assistant with one-click installs for plugins and scripts, a stand-alone menu extra similar to DEVONagent Express, and dozens of more new improvements and bug fixes. We also have updated DEVONthink and DEVONnote to version 2.1.1 with bug fixes e.g. for the Sorter. Definitely a recommended update for all of you using DEVONthink or DEVONnote!

The update will show up automatically on your device as soon as it has been approved by Apple. (more)
As promised two days ago: We have more news this week. Today is the end of the DEVONacademy as we knew it. We have updated all tutorials, collected new scripts, templates, and plugins, moved all tips from my blog to a database, and integrated everything into an easy-to-use assistant that is now part of DEVONthink and DEVONnote, and soon also of DEVONagent. Just a quick note that we have today submitted DEVONagent Express 3.0.1 to Apple with a number of bug fixes. Included are fixes for glitches in the user interface as well as for a bug that lets the app consume way to much CPU time when being used for a longer time.

The Devonian was not only the time when our ancestors crawled out of the water and onto the land. It was also the name-giver for our company — and presumably for Devon Works, a design company that has created the Tread 1 watch, a little electronic/mechanic masterpiece. Even when you don’t need a watch right now you should at least have a look at the great animation they show on their web site.
