In this post I want to detail some of the ideas I’ve only touched on previously, and show how these have really changed my workflows. So far my posts have been quite general, and some further detail in areas may be beneficial. From March 4 through 6 Cocoa developers gathered in then-rainy Leicester, UK, for NSConference 5. So Alan and me joined them and enjoyed socializing with friends from the US to Israel. And while we learned about quite a few interesting ideas from other developers, from business to programming, we also acquired *truly *essential knowledge: how to make our own cocktails. To the right you can see Alan having fun preparing his very first Singapore Sling under the eyes of a professional bar keeper. I did a Cosmopolitan so I guess it was the unofficial “pinkish cocktail night”. Or did we just try to summon Spring? (more)

Today is macOS Mojave day. And while DEVONthink 2.10.1 is working fine on Apple’s latest incarnation of the Mac operating system, the new security measures do interfere with DEVONthink Pro Office’s Mail plugin. DEVONthink To Go 2.4.2 is available on the App Store. The maintenance release updates the PDF library with bug fixes and improves the way informative notifications are presented. It also fixes issues related to, e.g., the progress status, the file item provider, Photos library access, and the localization. (more)
This week Apple officially released iOS 12 with many under-the-hood changes. DEVONthink To Go 2.6.4 has just become available on the App Store and brings some necessary adjustements for Apple’s new operating system version as well as for the iPhone XS Max. (more)
I wanted to make this post very much an ‘examples of use’ text rather than just listing the features in the app or talking about the sync — again there is a comprehensive manual and many associated articles that do that. I also wanted to preface it with the fact that for me, the main usage for the app is capturing information whilst away from my Mac, and recalling pieces of information that just won’t wait. (more)
